Waiting for a handout

Unfortunately, many "wild" birds get fed by too many people around here. They seem content to simply wait for a handout. I passed a "lake" (almost any body of water here is referred to as a lake) and heard a commotion. Swimming towards me was the closest swan. The noise was the other one racing toward us, making sure he got his "cut". But they were out of luck. I only had a camera, not a loaf of bread.

I could not help but think of the gulls in "Finding Nemo", where the seagulls only word was, "Mine!"

Reminds me of some of the people in our country.
Lovely photo!

It happens as you said. One large park here had to pack off all the ducks and geese for this reason and now, if you attempt to feed any of the replacements that flew in, you will be arrested and fined.

If you visited my blog yesterday and left a comment about our 52nd wedding anniversary, I wanted to say, "Thanks."
