In much of the tourist heavy areas you will find some garishly decorated buildings. Inside are trinkets and souvenirs galore. Many featuring Mickey Mouse and friends as well as items with Orlando and/or Florida printed on them. I refer to them as roadside distractions. They must do well; they certainly don't seem to be closing down. This particular one is outside the Walt Disney World resort in the Lake Buena Vista area.
Most of these places do not sell "fake" or unauthorized items. The Disney merchandise that they sell does not say Walt Disney World on it, but usually has Florida on it instead. Disney was smart to give these places something that was authentic. But this does not cut into the sales of items at the theme parks.

They have a sign on baseball caps worn by people walking around carrying buckets and shovels on that island in Michigan where everything is done on foot or is pulled by horses. The signs read: "S__t happens." That was the very first thing I thought of after I read your post today. An intgeresting photograph with your post today.
Easter greetings from Abraham Lincoln in Brookville, Ohio.
